What a good week for the fall sports. Our cross country team had a huge week as the boys won their third straight league meet getting them one step closer to a league title. Caleb Meister led the pack finishing first in the league. On the girls side Nicole Dinisi ran her best race finishing second in the league. Friday was the big test to see where the boys were amongst the top schools. They ran in the Mt. SAC invites and were asked to run in the sweepstakes race which boasts of the top teams from surrounding states as well as the top five from Southern California. The boys finished 2nd only trailing a squad from Arizona. They beat all three teams currently ranked above them in the Southern Section. This includes their second victory over Woodcrest Christian ranked #1 in the state of California.
They run Tuesday in another league meet and finish league on Friday with the League Finals at Calvary Chapel Moreno Valley.
Football dropped another tough game to Ontario Christian as Coach Scotty Kirkpatrick works hard to rebuild the program. These boys play very hard aggressive football and are establishing something for the future that we all can be proud of. If you have not seen a game, this team of few is something to behold. Their heart and drive to compete cannot be matched and their record is nowhere close to being indicative of the type of season they are having. The capacity crowds at the games are evidence of where this program is going in a hurry and these boys make all Lancers proud. They play this Friday in a non league game at Verdugo Hills High School at 7:00P.
