Western Christian started fast in set 1 and jumped out to a 13-5 lead.  The Lady Lancers then cruised to a 25-11 set 1 win.  Hannah Rhinehart had 3 kills, 1 block and 1 ace to set the pace for the Lady Lancers.  Brook Bernard had 2 kills and 2 aces.  Lyndsey Carruthers and Itali Andrade also had 2 kills.

In set 2, Ontario Christian took a 15-11 lead which was followed by a Western Christian timeout.  After the timeout, the Lady Lancers rallied to tie the set at 15-15.  With the score 18-18, Western Christian took a 21-18 lead behind 3 straight aces by Brook Bernard. The Knights came back to tie the score at 23-23 and ultimately won the set 25-23. Itali Andrade had 8 kills on 10 attempts to lead the Western Christian attack.  The Lady Lancers took control of set 3 at 14-11 and was able to maintain the lead to a 19-16 advantage.  The Lady Lancers closed out the set with a 6-2 run to win set 3 by a score of 25-18.  Itali Andrade had 6 more kills.  Lyndsey Carruthers added 3 kills and 1 block.  Hannah Rhinehart contributed 2 blocks.

Set 4 went back and forth as two talented teams battled each other.  The visiting Knights took a 15-13 only to see the Lady Lancers fight back to take a 19-16 lead.  After a Ontario Christian timeout, the Knights forged ahead by 1 point at 22-21.   Western Christian went ahead 23-22 but eventually fell to the Knights 24-26 which evened the match at 2-2. Itali Andrade had 8 kills in set 4.  Brook Bernard, Lyndsey Carruthers and Hannah Rhinehart each had 2 kills for the Lady Lancers.

The deciding 5th set was played evenly. The Knights battled back twice to even the score at 10-10 and 14-14 after the Lady Lancers took small leads. The Lady Lancers fell in set 5 by a score of 16-18.  The Lady Lancers are back in action 10/13 when they host Loma Linda Academy.
