Reading of Minutes:
The February minutes were silently reviewed, then approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
The Treasurer’s report was reviewed by Jeanne Pandzic. For the month of February, the beginning balance was 11,215.64 and the ending balance was 12,240.80
Coaches/Liaison Reports for Spring:
Softball (Alex Cordero):
Softball has a new coach. The team played Claremont, Chaffey, Montclair and Ontario in a tournament.
Mr. Oldham asked how the restricted account for softball has been spent, as the softball uniforms (especially the pants) are quite old. Mr. Yovino clarified some issues as follows: Uniforms are to be a budgeted item (not from restricted account) that comes from of WCHS. Coaches spend the restricted account money by submitting purchase orders for the teams’ needs. The P.O.s have to be approved by administration. Mr. Mizell reminded us that coaches may also request funds from Boosters, and that 3 years ago, Boosters purchased softball shirts. Mrs. Donante will look up how much money was earned by softball for their restricted acccount at the most recent Harvest Festival.

Baseball (Coach Bates):
The team has played 5 games in the Arcadia Elks Tournament. They have had 1 win, 4 losses. They will start playing league games this week. They have been using the backstop padding the Boosters provided; they bring it and take it down for each home game.
Golf (Mrs. Broad):
The team has had four losing league matches. The next match is Wednesday. (Note: All sports schedules should be posted at westernchristian.org.)
Track and Field (Coach Saucedo):
The team had a good meet at Citrus College. It’s a young team. The girls relay 4×1 took 4th. Christian Mora came in 5th for the mile. They also won a 4×4 relay race. A meet is scheduled for Woodcrest Christian Tuesday and Friday, and at O.C. Invite on Saturday @Chino Hills HS.
Old Business:
Spring Meet the Teams (SMTT), Saturday, March 26th (Mary Mizell):
The cow chip deeds need to be turned in. Some of the teams need a couple more days. So far, girls soccer and golf have turned in their deeds. Volleyball and softball have most of theirs ready to turn in. Track and Field and Golf need to turn in their sales agreements. Mr. Cortez stated that an email went out to Track and Field list regarding the sales agreements.
Track and Field are preparing the tacos for the SMTT fundraiser. Preorders are needed so they know how much food to buy. Mrs. Mizell will resend the email with the order form.
Mr. Oldham thinks there are enough softball alums for the first alumni softball game on the 26th.
Mrs. Wood gave the sample shirt to Mrs. Rhinehart to have softball and baseball shirts made for the alum games. It was voted that Boosters will pay for the alumni’s softball and baseball shirts, but not the current players’ shirts. Boosters will also pay for the alum’s taco meal; Track and Field does not have to foot the bill for this.
Mrs. Bates reported that she does not need Booster help with funding coffee and donuts for the alumni; the team parents are providing items. Boosters will provide donuts/coffee for softball, however.
Mrs. Pandzic offered to be at the alumni games bright and early to collect alumni information cards.

There will be a silent auction that day at SMTT with the following items for sale:

• 1st row at 2011 graduation ceremony.
• Two (2) senior parking spots for 2011-2012. Boosters will purchase two (2) “reserved” signs. Mr. Yovino was in agreement with installing the signs.
• Two (2) preferred parking spots for football home games.
• One (1) boys and one (1) girls spirit basket.
Additional Fundraising for this Spring (review from last meeting):
Mrs. Pandzic will make some calls regarding the cell phone tower possibility.
Mr. Cortez brought up the option of “taking over” the vending machines and making the profit ourselves. Mr. Yovino informed us that the machines are provided and stocked under a contract, and that we have limitations in using other machines. The company provides WCHS with some of the profit. There are legal limitations with what can be sold at schools to students. Brianne Brown has the contract. Mr. Mizell will review the contract to see what we are able to do/sell.
Mrs. Dinisi has a Coke machine she could donate.
Mrs. Wood has a connection who would like to donate 5 brand new Coke machines.
Mr. Coulter reminded us of health concerns for the kids and the athletic teams, and that our athletes need the edge of being properly hydrated while playing. He will provide an email list of appropriate healthy drinks.
New Computer (Brian Mizell):
Eloise will contact Donny regarding purchase of a desktop computer and printer.
New Business:
New Booster Board for 2011-2012:
Anyone interested in serving the Western community as a Booster board member, please contact Mr. Mizell or Mr. Yovino AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Board elections will be at the next meeting, April 11, 2011.

Summer camps/Leagues:
Mrs. Pandzic was concerned that families, returning and new, did not know how to plan their summer vacation plans around sports camps/tryouts/leagues, etc., and wondered how that could be communicated to the families. Mrs. Mizell suggested saving early August for vacations, as CIF rules do not allow practice at this time.
Closing Prayer:
The meeting was closed in prayer by Mr. Coulter at 8:03 pm.
Minutes prepared by Beth Pujol, March 14, 2011.
