Cheer Liaison Report (Sheila Gustafson):

Cross Country Liaison Report (Vickie Meister):

It’s the biggest team Western has ever had.  At their meet on Saturday they had great times.  This is a young team.  They should do great at their league meets.

Football Liaison Report (Lisa Bader):

The team went to Bishop over the weekend for their game.  The boys showed great sportsmanship.  Thanks to Coach K for having the kids show integrity on the bus and out on the field.  Next game will be at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga on Friday.  Nick Karavedes announced that Western will have a JV football team starting October 1 and they will be playing Rubidoux that afternoon .

Old Business:

Sports Field Report:

Nick Karavedes reported on the progress of the construction going on the field.  The demo is ahead of schedule.  APU donated the labor for the stripping of the field.  It will take place October 14 in the morning.  Nick Karavedes asked for everyone to keep praying that everything keeps going to plan.  George Baltierra asked if we would be getting more bleachers.  Nick told him that will be phase 2 and phase 3.  Bring your own chairs to the homecoming game.  George Baltierra asked if we had enough parking spots.  Nick Karavedes let him know we were zoned for 1200 students.  Lorraine Baltierra asked if we have looked into a cell tower.  Brandon Doolittle said he is looking into it but if Lorraine has any info to let us know.  Coach K asked if we could have sign- up sheets at games for help.

Fall Yard Sale, Sept 25

There are 25 spots sold.  You don’t have to take your stuff home with you as Mr. Prince will be taking it to the thrift store to sell.  It is being advertised in the Tribune and Craigslist.  Boosters will be selling food/drinks at the yard sale.  The money the teams make will be going to their teams.  There is still a need for help with the yard sale on that day.  Kids can start earning their community service hours.  They need to help out with the school 10 hours a semester.

Brick Program:

The budget for this walkway to get started is 15,000.00.  At this time we have 13 donors at a little over 7,000.00.  As soon as we get the money we can get started on it.  At the lowest level of sponsorship we need 40 families.  There will be a visual the night of the opening of the field.  Brandon was asked to put the number of total sponsorship on the ren-web so all parents can see.

Christmas Tree Sale:

Denise Wood came and spoke on the fundraiser for the Christmas Trees.  Her husband has been in the tree business for 25 years.  They have set this company up for non-profit companies.  The trees come in from growers from Washington and Oregon and are premium quality.  Orders will need to be in before Nov 22 and a check for the trees a week later.  Overall profit is about $30 a tree, $12-14 per wreath and $1 a foot for garland. Delivery of the trees will be Dec 4.  For every tree cut 2 are planted.

The trees are counted three times before delivered to us.  They are marked by color.  You can deliver them wrapped or unwrapped.

Fall Sports Program:

Mary Mizell will be sending it out to Ink Works. The program will include the Homecoming Court.  It will be a total of 12 to 16 pages.  There are a few items needed that were requested from the Fall liaisons.

New Business:

Rally Bus:

We have two rally bus dates for two away games, October 8 and 22.  The cost will be $5 per person.  It leaves at 5:00pm and will return by 11:00pm.  Each student riding the bus will need a permission slip.  Max number the bus can take is 56.  Frankie Marcucci will be taking money and permission slips.

Harvest Festival 90th Year Celebration:

Harvest Festival will be kicking off the weeklong celebration. It is October 9 from 4:00-7:00pm. It will be in the papers and advertised through the cities.  This is an entire school event.  The high school will be doing the food booths and at Homecoming Claremont will be providing the food.  Both campuses will be participating in spirit week.
