All students are required to take two years of mathematics to graduate.
0404 Algebra 1A (CSU/UC)

This class is designed to move at a slower pace, so students may cover the first semester of the first year of algebra over the course of two semesters. The student must also complete Algebra 1B to receive full credit for Algebra 1.

Prerequisites : The completion of pre-Algebra with a grade of "C" or better; Admission by math department recommendation.
0405 Algebra 1B (CSU/UC)
Designed at a slower pace, Algebra 1B students cover the second half of Algebra 1 over the course of two semesters. The completion of Algebra 1A and Algebra 1B, with a grade of "C" or better, meets the CSU/UC algebra requirement.
Prerequisites : Completion of Algebra 1A with a "C" or better, or the completion of Algebra 1 with a "D" or lower.
0406 Algebra 1 (CSU/UC)
Algebra 1 is the first year college preparatory Algebra. Concepts are taught that will prepare the student for higher levels of preparatory math.
Prerequisites : The completion of Algebra 1A with a "C" or better or the completion of pre-algebra or Math 8 with a "B" or better.
0408 Geometry (CSU/UC)
Geometry will develop and use critical thinking and logic skills to
solve geometric problems. Concepts are reinforced for the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Geometry is a college preparatory class.
Prerequisites : The completion of Algebra 1 or Algebra 1B with a grade of "C" or better in the second semester.
0409 Algebra 2 (CSU/UC)
Algebra 2 enables student to advance to higher levels of math including trigonometry and calculus.
Prerequisites : The completion of both Algebra 1 and geometry with grade of "C" or better.
0410 Math Analysis (CSU/UC)
Math analysis is an advanced level mathematics that deals with trigonometry functions, graphs, applications, and pre-calculus concepts. This class requires the purchase of a graphing calculator by the student.
Prerequisites : A grade of "B" or better in Algebra 2; or grade of "C" with instructor approval.
0411 Calculus Advanced Placement (AP)
Calculus AP is designed to prepare the student to take the AP Calculus test. All students enrolled are encouraged to take the AP examination, given in May. College credit may be granted for competency on this examination. Textbooks will be purchased by students.
Prerequisites : Concurrent enrollment in calculus and the calculus workshop classes. A grade of "B" or better in math analysis, or grade of "C" with instructor approval.
0412 Intro to Computers - Computer 1  

This class offers a study of the fundamentals of information systems. The primary objective of the class is to prepare students for academic and professional computer use. This class will primarily focus on learning the latest edition of the Windows operating system. Business and personal use of applications are discussed and demonstrated. Typing lessons are also provided.

0413 Web Programming and Graphic Design 1 - Computer 2  

Web and Graphic Design 1 students will explore the endless capabilities of the computer. HTML, Graphic Design, Flash Animation, Computer Hardware, and Beginning Computer Programming will be integrated in an application-based course.

0421 Web Programming and Graphic Design 2 - Computer web  
This class will be an application-based course which will utilize students' strengths developed in Web and Graphic Design 1 to help create and update Western Christian's web site. The students will get to choose from graphic design, flash animations, HTML editing, photography or web programming and will be able to develop their skills at a higher level. Students will gain web– development experience equivalent to that of a professional organization.
Prerequisites : A grade of "B"' or better in Computer 2, or instructor approval.
