Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum, which is age and developmentally appropriate. Pursuant to law, (EC 48000[c]), a child is eligible for Transitional Kindergarten if a child’s fifth birthday is between September 2nd-December 2nd. Transitional Kindergarten is taught by highly qualified teachers and is intended to give young learners an opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is tailored to meet their academic and social needs. Our curriculum includes the standards that are outlined in the California Preschool Learning Foundations for Transitional Kindergarten.
We are proud to offer a quality education that begins with Biblical teachings and Christian values, while integrating a comprehensive curriculum. We work closely with the elementary teachers at Western Christian to ensure kindergarten readiness. We offer a balanced schedule that provides periods of directed learning to promote focus, cooperative learning, and problem solving, along with ample time for individual choices to assist in exploration and experimentation, decision making, and discovery. Our goal is to prepare students with the knowledge and truth of God, while thriving academically.
